Coast Live Audio

live sound 101

Picture
here at the coast, we'd like to think that everyone who drives audio gear for live sound reinforcement is always trying to be better at what they do
it's a tricky sport and new players must learn to reconcile myriad compromises on the spot
the acoustics, system limitations, mixer position, stage sound, the band... all variables that conspire to interact with other variables to make things very tricky indeed for the operator
the key to being that adaptable is to educate one's self in both fundamentals and tricks
the internet makes this a bit easier

a good engineer will not only make a state-of-the-art system perform well in a good acoustic space, hell, that's easy, but can get the best result possible from a sub-par system or a nightmare room
